Senior Scientist

The incumbent should have excellent technical background preferably in new products development and having high potential for handling complex projects. He/she should be able to lead projects and troubleshoot problems with technical expertise and relevant experience. Should have good understanding of dry blend technology

Role description

The position exists for:

New Products Development to fuel Category growth and Re-formulation of existing formula to achieve productivity in order to improve margins through break-through ideas, innovation and consumer satisfaction by:

  • Development of products and processes capable of consistently producing the intended quality product
  • Development of Raw Materials and Product specifications in Specs Management System in compliance with Regulatory and Mondelez policies
  • HACCP and Food Safety documentations. Shelf life study and product stability test.
  • Should have strong scientific knowledge in food Product formulations preferably Refreshment Beverages, Food Ingredients, Quality systems, Food safety and product stability, Process Developments
  • Conducting pilot plant and Plant trials for new product developments and finding QI opportunities for existing products
  • Work on reformulation and alternate raw materials to find and execute productivity opportunities
  • Maintaining of brand equity asset – Consumer Action Standards maintained
  • Implementing of new technologies that benefit the company and regional plants
  • Communication linkage with GITP, plant BD/Process Engineers, Regulatory, PCM, Procurements, Marketing (Brand Managers) and Supply Chain (Plant Departmental Managers and site Quality) colleagues in Philippines, Bahrain, India, Pakistan, Thailand and Egypt (co-man)

Requirements

  • University degree in Food Technology / Engineering
  • Understanding of food safety aspects (HACCP)
  • Understanding of food safety aspects (HACCP)
  • Good English communication skills both verbal and written & technical report writing
  • Knowledge of dry mixes / refreshment beverages plus a general understanding of other food related technologies is a plus
  • Good understanding of marketing and consumers preference is a plus
  • Knowledge of local regulatory aspects related to Powdered beverage and food in general is a plus
  • Display good behaviour at work and respect organizational values. Inspire trust and promotes healthy atmosphere at work
  • Must have hands-on experience in food industry preferably in NPD
  • High degree of self-organisational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to “multi-task” and operate in an intensive FMCG environment

  • Knowledge of Windows office.
